Morris dancers have celebrated the seasons for hundreds of years in England with music dance, songs and plays. Decked out in ribbons and bells they performed athletic dances with handkerchiefs and sticks to encourage good fortune and fertility for the coming season. The Bridgetown Morris Men keep this age-old tradition alive in Portland, our shows comprising traditional dances, music, songs and plays. Keep an eye out for us, you'll see us dancing around Portland at various events throughout the year. We can be bought! We'll perform at weddings, picnics, and parties. We can be joined! All you need is a sense of humor and a little rhythm. If you'd like to watch us, hire us or become one of us, contact any of the following by email or phone, directly: |
